This is a PC/Win root and cannot be done via Mac or the phone. Unlocking the bootloader is **NOT** necessary for this root method and there are no ROMS as of yet. Note that unlocking the bootloader can be tracked and wipes your phone, but it appears that so far no one has had a problem giving the phone back to Sprint with it unlocked or relocked. I haven't tried it yet as I'm still on 14-day return probation. Nestled in the recesses of XDA I found a root tool for this phone. DO NOT INSTALL THE UPDATE RELEASED OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ROOT USING THIS METHOD
